Photography is as technical and scientific as it is artistic, and understanding of the rules of composition or the relationships between exposure and aperture are enough to create powerful images.
Photography’s processes can easily be commercialised (produced at very low cost) and its outputs used to tell unambiguous stories, making it a strong contender as an instrument of design, journalism and politics.
As a photographic artist, I do not focus on the technical process of creation or the medium itself, I am more interested in the process that comes to an end when it is time for the technicalities.
Whether its the process of storytelling, applying observation to outcome or the social and historical context of the photograph itself, this is where my art of photography lies.
